Danger-Russ!
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages, let’s get ready to rock and roll! I have a feeling that is what goes through today’s Meet The Team Spotlight member Russ Johnson every morning when he walks through our doors.
Stop and think about this for a moment… we have a 20,000+ sq. ft. building, forty trucks, a couple hundred thousand pieces and parts in inventory, and somewhere north of seventy people that all need various things to be able to take care of our customers. Russ is the conductor of this grand orchestra that we like to think of as The World’s Greatest Company.
Russ’s official title is Fleet & Warehouse Manager. So whether it is a broken down truck somewhere in Miami, one of our installers who needs a ladder in Boynton Beach, or an air conditioner that needs to be transported to Jupiter, Russ is our go-to-guy. As you can see in the above photo, Russ often plays in the do not try this at home category when things break.
He hails from upstate New York with a strong background in all the building trades, and has the knack to solve just about any problem we come across. I recently sat with him over a cup of coffee and posed a few questions about his day-to-day life here at Art. I asked him about what really makes him tick and what he loves about his job.
“I love the fact that every day here presents new challenges, it keeps me energized about what I do. I’ll never give up on doing what it takes to fill our customer’s needs,” he responded.
On the weekends you’ll find Russ in his kitchen or somewhere with a fishing pole in his hand. He says a home cooked sit-down dinner is in his top ten favorite things in life, along with spending time with family and friends. I personally have had the pleasure of dining and fishing with Russ on several occasions and I’m proud to count him as a friend.
So the next time one of our service personnel shows up at your home or business, take a moment and tip your hat to Russ. He is absolutely crucial in assisting our techs and installers with the ability to serve you promptly.
When I asked, in the trivial knowledge category, what his favorite movie quote was he said, “I’m funny? Like funny how? Like a clown or something?” Russ is truly a good fellow.
