Happy Friday one and all and I welcome you back to another edition of fun facts and silly trivia. Let us start today by offering a few fun facts from the EPA when it comes to good old H2O. In the United States alone there are over 56,000 water treatment plants processing 34 billion gallons of water daily to keep us all clean and thirst free. Considering the average home uses over 100,000 gallons of water per year, it would seem that the treatment plants have their work cut out for them. Moving water from point A to point B is not a new concept considering if you look back at the Roman and Egyptian societies they had crude systems to move water about.

One of the most common things used to move water around these days are our lawns sprinkler systems. I know, you wouldn’t expect me to be talking lawn sprinklers in the middle of summer here in sunny South Florida. I have been here twenty plus years and it seems that our weather patterns have changed from years past. When I first moved here you could set your watch to the fact that it was going to rain every day between 2:30 and 3:30 for about an hour during the summer months. Now, the same does not seem to hold true. We still have our afternoon thunder storms, however, in my humble metrological opinion, the weather is not as predictable as it once was. The next thing up is the fact that it seems we are having the hottest summer ever. I know we say that every year, however, this is three weeks in a row where the feels like temperatures have hit high into the triple digits. You combine this kind of heat with a lack of rain and our poor lawns are paying the price.

This is when our sprinkler division can come to the rescue. We added sprinklers to our arsenal of services about four years ago and today the division is growing stronger than ever. For a mere $69 one of our sprinkler techs will come to your home or business and conduct a full evaluation of your lawn’s watering devices. We will check the time clock, all the zones, and the directionality of the water to ensure your lawn is getting the best coverage and you have no dry dark brown spots. If your sprinkler system is powered by a well or lake instead of city water, we can help with those nasty iron stains as well.

Bottom line when it comes to anything water, who are you going to call? Art Plumbing, Air Conditioning & Electric can help.
