Happy Friday everyone and welcome back. As you know, I usually spend my Fridays talking about a service or a tip for the house. Today’s topic is about what an awesome place Art Plumbing, Air Conditioning & Electrical is to work at. I did a little research and found out that on the average over the years, one out of 83 people that apply to work here actually get hired. In my opinion that is a crazy number, one in 83 makes it through the screening process, wow.

Let us start walking the process, application first, then a brief initial interview, and then the testing begins. If the candidate does well on the testing a second interview is scheduled which can be up to an hour and a half long. If the second interview goes well, a ride along is scheduled where the candidate spends a day or two riding with someone in their field. Ok, the ride along went well now for the third interview with one of our operation managers. Once that hurdle is cleared then the drug testing and background check, pass that and you get a written job offer. On average, the entire process to make it on our team takes 60 to 90 days.

Tough screening process, right? However, that is not all that makes this a great place to work. The biggest thing that makes this a special place to work is the purpose partners. What is a purpose partner you ask? We are not employees, or co-workers, we are a group of partners with a common purpose. I know it sounds a little corny, but that mentality makes us more of a family than just a place where we work.

We are third generation family owned and operated, and very proud of the fact that we have maintained the old school way of running a company. What does that mean? It starts with the owner. We have around 50 folks on our team, and when the big boss walks in every morning something special happens. You would think an owner of an eight million+ dollar company would be business first right? In our shop that is the furthest thing from reality. Our owner makes it a point to greet every person with a hand shake, or a shoulder bump or a kiss on the cheek. Every person in the building, every day, before he even opens his office door.
